Career counseling and job placement cell have been prevalent for few years now, primarily focusing on organizing seminars and conferences aimed at enhancing career opportunities for students in various fields. It's no secret that job opportunities for general graduates are infrequent, if not scare, in our country, so we cannot solely rely on seminars, conferences, or awareness campaigns to significantly impact students. However, their relevance in a constantly evolving society, where job roles are also evolving, cannot also be dismissed.
Our Initiatives :
In the previous academic session, our college's Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) introduced additional courses to better equip our students for the job market. These courses provided comprehensive training programs to enhance students' readiness for various job examinations, whether conducted by state, central, or private organizations. Despite these efforts, the concept of providing on-campus job opportunities remained elusive until March 10, 2024. To everyone's surprise, we successfully organized a campus recruitment drive on 10 th March 2024 by TCS, the world's largest IT company, resulting in 32 jobs for our students. This groundbreaking achievement has reshaped the perception of a general degree college, particularly regarding on-campus job opportunities. Subsequently, other companies like Reliance expressed interest in recruiting from our campus, offering an additional 10 jobs in an in-campus drive on 22 nd March 2024. TCS later extended job offers to nine more candidates from the same recruitment drive, bringing the total number of students placed to be 51 for the academic session. This remarkable success has instilled confidence in us, leading us to believe that job opportunities exist in various sectors for general stream graduates, including IT, Sales, Banking, and Tourism, no name a few. This newfound self-belief is guiding our future plans, which involve comprehensive strategies and, most importantly, doable plans. In our college more jobs are surely up there to grab and our placement cell is working hard to make them happen.
