Library Programs
Library observed the International Mother Language Day on 21st of February by organizing a discussion on the importance of the day followed by a short cultural programme and book exhibition. The main aim was to raise awareness among the students about the rich history and collection of our mother language ‘Bengali’.
A two-day book exhibition was held by the library in collaboration with the eminent publication house, Oxford University Press. The effort was to create awareness about international books.
Library celebrated National Librarian’s Day on 12th August with the participation of all the faculty and students. A symposium was organized on the topic ‘New Generation and Reading Habit’. A book exhibition and an engaging cultural programme consisting of dance, recitation and music was also a part of the event. This year our IQAC donated books to the library on the occasion of Librarian’s day.
In 2023, Library inaugurated its first hand written wall magazine ‘Riddha’ on the occasion of Librarian’s day. Write ups on various topics like favourite character in a book, favourite author etc. with sketches by the students were depicted in the magazine.
Every year at the beginning of the session library provides user orientation service to educate the students about how to use the library and to raise awareness about the importance of books as well as libraries.
Library in collaboration with the IQAC celebrated the P.N. Panicker Reading Month by oraganizing a three day programme comprising of a passage reading competition for the students, a talk named ‘syllabus er baire’ (out of syllabus) and a visit to our college library by the students of two local schools.
